Britain's Biggest Burger: 4,200 Calories

Oscar's Diner, a restaurant in Shropshire, Britain, have made headlines with their enormous "Titanic" burger, containing a whopping 4,200 calories (and that's before you add the fries and milkshake).

That is an average woman's daily intake for two days... and a dieter's nightmare.

The restaurant came up with the burger as a crowd-drawing challenge,

Hungry customers must eat the entire burger, a large portion of chips, a pot of coleslaw, washing it all down with the ice cream milkshake, within 45 minutes.

The burger costs ?15 (around $23), and is stacked high with:

  • two 1lb beef patties

  • six rashers of bacon

  • two chicken breasts

  • two potato waffles

  • four onion rings

  • cheese and mayo

  • tomato and lettuce

So far, around a hundred people have taken on the challenge. Fifteen have succeeded.

Health experts have spoken out against the burger, with dietician Lucy Jones describing it as, "The quickest route into A&E with a heart attack."

Oscar's Diner say, "We're not forcing anyone to eat anything. It's just a bit of fun."

What do you think? Is this a fun marketing gimmick, or a example of dangerous super-sizing?
